Where to meet
You will need to arrive at the National Trust car park at Alderley Edge (SK10 4UB), next to “The Wizard” pub, for 6.50 pm. After dusk it is better to use the side gate entrance to the car park, opposite “The Wizard Cafe“. Collection from same place. The time is at your discretion but typically between 9pm - 9.30pm latest.
What to wear
Old clothes which can get dirty (no jeans). Sturdy footwear - hiking boots/shoes, wellys are best. Be prepared to get wet and sandy as we will attempt a few crawls. You may wish to bring a change of clothing - we also recommend a bin bag to sit on for your journey home.
The mines are a comfortable temperature all year round. However the car park and walk to the mines can be cold, especially in winter, so consider bringing a coat - it can be left in a safe location just inside the mines entrance. If you are not appropriately dressed you may not be able to attend the trip.
Snacks and drinks
We are only underground for 2 hours so no need for refreshments, however you are welcome to bring some if you want to.
Equipment
We provide a suitable helmet with a lamp, a safety belt and means of staying safe on ladders etc. No need for you to bring your own torch.
Paper work
Payment should be made 7 days prior to your trip. Consent forms and personal information to be held by section leader and not us.
