Derbyshire NW Scouts Caving Team

What can I say! A bit of a trek for us but well worth the 1 hours drive. The caving team were exceptional and although there were a few issues with our group, took it in their stride. They made everyone welcome and time passed so quickly, the group learned about the cave and rocks that were mined out, they were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic which made our group very receptive to learning about the history. The young people enjoyed their time so much they are still buzzing and the comments I’ve had off parents are fabulous and out way the time we got home! Thank you so much for all that you do, we will be visiting again and we can’t wait. Ann

5th Tyldesley Cubs and Leaders have had a fantastic time caving in Alderley Edge tonight 😀 For most, if not all of them, this was the first time they'd been caving and they absolutely SMASHED IT 👊 LOTS of fears were conquered and thanks to their postive, 'can do' attitudes and encouragement from their fellow cubs, crawls were tackled head on (literally 😂)! I'd like to say a BIG thanks to all the Derbyshire Scout Caving Team instructors for sharing their knowledge with us and making our time in Wood Mine informative, challenging and most importantly FUN 😀 I'm one VERY proud but VERY tired Cub Leader right now 😴

DNWSCT facilitated a trip down West Mine for 21 members of our group. It was an excellent visit from start to finish. The team were friendly and patient with the scouts but gave clear instructions to keep everybody safe. The scouts got to experience a variety of crawls and have a go at ladders etc, it all felt very well organised and managed. Would definitely come again! Thanks so much DNWSCT!

Our Explorers had a great evening exploring West Mine, learning about the history of the mine and geology. The mine is huge, with lots of different routes and challenges to do which keep it entertaining. Thanks to the team who are great fun! Look forward to bring our Cubs and Scouts along in the future.
